What is The Foundry?
At TMW Bristol, we believe in unlocking the incredible potential of young, ambitious talent in the South West. The Foundry is our platform to discover this next generation.
If you’re over 18 years old and eager to enter the dynamic world of advertising, The Foundry could welcome you into the industry – offering invaluable experience plus some fun along the way.
As a 'Fellow’, you'll become an integral part of the team from day one, working with industry experts in your chosen department and across key areas of the business. You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of how the industry works, contributing to real projects and earning a recognised qualification.
Who's it for?
Anyone over 18 years old who wants to get hands-on experience in the marketing industry. We don’t expect any previous experience or qualifications. All we ask is that you have a genuine willingness to learn, take pride in your work, and are ready to get stuck in.
What's in it for you?
You’ll get the opportunity to spend a year within one of our industry-leading departments, working with big brands such as BMW, MINI, Toyota, Lexus, Greene King, the Rugby Football Union, LNER and the Government. We’ll also support you to complete a relevant industry qualification from the IPA.
The Financials:
- £23,400 annual salary on a 12-month contract
- Pension contributions – 5% employee and 3% employer, in line with auto enrolment guidelines
- Life assurance policy

- A free annual eye test and flu jab
- Refer a friend scheme – earn up to £2,000
- Culture Club – an opportunity to spend up to £50 annually on something cultural, e.g. gallery, exhibition, event

The Experience:
- A 12-month plan outlining the experience you will gain, including real-life work projects and face-to-face time with senior leaders
- Industry recognised qualification with 20% study leave
- Involvement in agency initiatives such as Lunch Wars and Winter Winners for free lunches and prizes
- Free breakfast in the lovely Bristol office
Time Out
- 25 days annual leave
- Office Christmas closure (usually 3 days)
- Birthday day off
- Flexible bank holidays – switch up to two bank holiday days to another day of your choice, acknowledging events which are important to different cultures
- Volunteer day – a day per year to give back to the community or support a charity
- Summer 4@4 – over the summer months of July and August, you can choose to finish at 4pm on four occasions
The TMW Placement Experience - Benedick O'Shea
We loved having Ben as part of the TMW team. During the year he was with us, Ben worked across clients such as BMW, MINI, and Formula 1, and tried his hand at being a content editor and account executive. He was able to pick up new roles quickly, establish strong working relationships, and gained a great understanding of the different processes we follow.
